To be able to use our app, you first have to enter your personal product-key.
You will receive your license key for CAR ASYST as soon as you have completed your purchase. Enter this in the app. The license key is enabled automatically in the background.
To run licensing, select "Settings" in the main menu of the app. Under "Settings" you will find the item "Product-Keys". Once you have selected this item, you can enter two different product-keys – CARDATA license and/or VAS5054 product-key.
Click the relevant field to open up a pop-up menu in which you can enter your key. Important: Please make sure you have a functioning Internet connection. As soon as you have entered your key, you can start licensing with "OK".
If you have a demo product-key, you can also enter it under CARDATA license. Click "OK" to start licensing. Important: Please make sure you have a functioning Internet connection.

Car Asyst has to connect up to our license server at least every 30 days so a license validity check can be carried out. Car Asyst tries to carry out this license validity check automatically in the background before the 30 days are up. Internet access is required for this check. If your mobile device does not have Internet access or only poor Internet access, the validity check may not be able to be carried out.

In the Settings, under Product-Keys, you will find a time of when the connection to the license server has to be established at the latest. You can also start validation here manually.
If your license is due to run out in one month, you will receive a reminder:
CARDATA (12-month data subscription) provides you with all original vehicle data released and approved by Audi as soon as it becomes available (for each individual Audi model). Having a subscription saves you purchasing data on a regular basis and also ensures that you are always using the most recent Audi vehicle data.
In the case of a one-off purchase, the required hardware (CA ADAPTER) is available for an unlimited time in the webshop. It belongs to the orderer of the hardware as soon as it has been purchased.
To use the vehicle data package (CA CARDATA), a software license is also required which can be used for a total period of 12 months from the date of purchase. The duration of the subscription always starts with the day of purchase in the webshop. From the time of purchase, activation can take place at any time within a period of 12 months (for calculation: For CA CARDATA the duration is: remainder of the current month + 12 months).
The use of the vehicle data together with the CA APP takes place in the form of a subscription. This is extended automatically if it is not terminated in good time beforehand.
Product activation (online/offline) takes place directly in the product (APP or ANALYTICS). For this purpose, the license key received on purchase must be entered once in the CA APP on the relevant end device (smartphone, tablet) or in CA ANALYTICS on the Windows PC. This enables the vehicle data subscription (CA CARDATA) on the end device or on the PC. Every license can only be used for 1 end device (Android smartphone / tablet or Windows PC).
Your current subscription is automatically extended for 12 months if you do not terminate your CA CARDATA subscription at least 8 weeks before the contract is due to expire.
Please proceed as follows to pay for your CA CARDATA subscription: Log in to the CAR ASYST website www.car-asyst.com with your user name (e-mail address) and password. Your CAR ASYST subscriptions are displayed to you in your Account.
You will also find an overview of the orders in your account under Order history.
From the first day after the invoice was due, in other words 1 day after the subscription has expired (day 0 = 365 days after the purchase date), the subscriber is sent a first reminder; there is no minimum amount. No arrears fee will be levied. You can simply pay for the subscription as described under "Extension" and the expired license (CARDATA) will simply be extended.
If after two weeks after the subscription has expired (= 365 +14 = 379 days after the purchase date) the extension still has not been paid, you will receive a second reminder in writing. This will include an additional arrears fee of EUR 50. The total amount due can be paid by bank transfer within a period of a further two weeks. Alternatively you can pay the total amount due in the regular way for the next five banking days in the webshop.
To do this, you must log in to your customer account at www.car-asyst.com/account/shop/User/action/new.html. Payment can be taken care of simply and fast in the Account menu under "Subscription" by clicking on the menu item "Renew subscriptions".
If the total amount due for CAR ASYST has not been paid by this date or has not been paid in full, we will be obliged to initiate a legal collection procedure.
Use of the CAR ASYST APP will certainly be disabled as of the date of expiry of the relevant subscription.
Within a period of at least 8 weeks before the end of the subscription, CARDATA can be terminated in writing by sending an e-mail to car-asyst[at]softing[.]com, or by fax [+49 89 45656-399].
You can terminate the contract at any time after purchasing the subscription within the twelve month period up until the eight weeks prior to the contract expiring. This termination does not take effect until the coming year (when it comes to extending the subscription).
If the contract is not terminated within this time, in other words is not terminated in due time, the termination will not be effective until the following year. The price for using the subscription for 12 months must be paid in all cases. CAR ASYST (CA CARDATA) can continue to be used in this period with no limitations.
If you have terminated the contract and the 12-month subscription has come to its end, CAR ASYST can no longer be used. If you reorder CAR ASYST, a new valid license key has to be purchased (CA CARDATA). For this purpose CAR ASYST must be reactivated on the relevant end device (smartphone, tablet).
