This license key enables the CAR ASYST APP to access the vehicle using the diagnostic VCI (vehicle communication interface VAS 5054 / VAS 5054A which has been used successfully in the Volkswagen/Audi Group for some time now.
A wireless connection over Bluetooth connects the smartphone with the VAS 5054. The latter communicates with the vehicle via the CAN bus which is available in all model ranges

The CAR ASYST ADAPTER VAS 5054 can be connected with a smartphone like any other standard Bluetooth device. The VAS 5054 technology, which has been familiar for many years and is very well established, provides the added value of continuous use of the devices for the CAR ASYST APP.
Thanks to the prevalence of active VAS 5054 devices, you can use the one-off approval software license to retrofit your existing VAS 5054 to use the CAR ASYST APP. With vehicle access via the CAN bus, diagnostics can be carried out not only on current vehicles but also on older vehicle models without a DoIP or Ethernet gateway.
Running the communication protocol on the microcontroller of the VAS 5054 ensures safe and high-performance communication with the vehicle. In mirror mode operation, the diagnostics CAN can be used to access one CAN or LIN-sub bus of the vehicles.
